Iliff Community Center Inc., Head Start
Iliff Community Center, Inc. is the grantee for Iliff Head Start. In 1985 Iliff Head Start was a delegate agency of Fort Morgan Head Start. The following year Iliff Community Center, Inc., became the grantee for the Head Start in the town of Iliff, Colorado (13 miles east of Sterling, CO). Iliff Community Center, Inc., Head Start has been providing services to children and families since 1986.
The grantee provides services for Logan County and provides transportation for children living outside of Iliff, CO with three buses to transport children to preschool.
The program has an on-site kitchen and provides home cooked meals for children through Child Adult Care Food Program funds.
The program served 40 children in 1985 and with the expansion over the years we now presently serve 83 children. Through additional funding from Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation the program is able to provide extended day for 12 families that need childcare after 1:00 p.m. Our families are from diverse cultures and ages 3-5 in five (5) classrooms. Each classroom has three paid staff with bi-lingual personnel in each classroom and employees 23 personnel.
