Jefferson County Head Start

Jefferson County Head Start is a NO COST comprehensive child-focused and family-centered preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 to eligible families who are at the 100% poverty level.  Enrolled families are offered a range of individualized services in the areas of education, early childhood development, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, family support, resource and referral assistance, and parent involvement. We make every effort to meet a child's special needs by accessing support from outside agencies as needed.

Jefferson County Head Start serves 406 children and families living in Jefferson County excluding the city of Lakewood.  Our program is part of Jefferson County government and is under the division of Human Services.
